NORTH-East political leaders will be urged to form a “super authority” today (June 7), by a government minister – as the first step to winning new powers and funding Greg Clark, the cities minister, will encourage councils to press the accelerator on setting up a combined body, stretching from Durham to Northumberland.The Conservative will say the idea – put forward in a study for the North East Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) – does not need government permission to go ahead. http://lnkd.in/GHgYKx less
